About Me

Constantly learning, growing, changing, evolving and loving every minute of it.

Always looking for inspiration, joy, light, goodness, sparkles, no-calorie chocolate and moments of utter happiness.

On a mission to do more of what makes me happy and less of what makes me frazzled, grumpy and generally unsafe to be around when yielding sharp-ish objects.

Writing, not enough, but often.  Because I love it.  The days when the words flow from my brain to my fingers without any blockage (admittedly also without spellcheck at times) are glorious days.  The “other” days I’m just saving up ammunition in the form of memories, encounters, life lessons, scenery, and all around awesomeness for the writing days.

I work to live, wear sparkles, indulge in fine chocolates, enjoy good wine, make unbelievable memories, cut rich cheese (not farting) and do it all without going into the four letter word called DEBT.

Blessed with the best family and friends in the world (maybe even universe). Prove me wrong.

Escaping often into lands of fairies, princes, wizards, warlocks, dragons, dorky (but sexy) heroins and a solid ending… one page after another.

Slowly, similar to that of a snail’s pace, becoming more familiar with that strange place called the “Kitchen”.  With weird compilations of metal and coils called “oven, stove and mixing doohickeys”.  One small recipe at a time I am surprising myself and those around me… much to their {belly’s} delight.

Cherishing the gift of being a step-mother every day and working hard to do be the best step-mother I can be.

Becoming a better person every. single. day. with the help of the man who came into my life and is teaching me:

  • Fairy tales do come true
  • High fives are best in sets of 3
  • Professing your love often {with wreckless abandon, colorful adjectives, in crowds or private} can never hurt
  • “I’m sorry” is powerful
  • Patience is a glorious thing, that I am always collecting more of
  • That I want to be a better person for him and his son

It’s good though, because I’m teaching him:

  • Dancing happens. Anytime, anywhere, to any rhythm
  • Chocolate cures most things that ail me
  • When I’m hungry.  Feed me.  {picture the plant from the little shop of horrors movie}
  • More than he ever wanted to know about female hormones, calories and the value of sparkles.

Some sayings/mottos/quotes that give me inspiration:

“Do more of what makes you happy”

“Love your every moment”

“It’s about love, it’s about Compassion, it’s about Kindness and Faith.  It has nothing to do with Luck.  You get what you give, so give good.”

“And they lived happily ever after”

“When you’re happy like a fool, let it take you over”

“Be gentle”

“This too shall pass”

“I cherish you”

“Love is patient, love is kind…”

And finally…

“I love you with all my heart.  Which I’m sure is a normal size, but I think it is much bigger since I’ve been with you” – Jason, 5/9/2012

  1. Have I told you how much I love you and your writing. Reading your excerpts on life give me such joy you can’t imagine. How do we get you to share it with the world? I”ll keep working on that!
